Going to a crowded place makes me anxious. What more if I’m going alone. However, when I learned about the Hillsong coming to our country, I freaked out and asked my boyfriend to buy me a ticket right away. Unlike me, he is not a fan, so he bought only for one. For consolation though, he paid for the ticket and chose the area in front of the stage.
Just a bit of a background, I have never been to concerts before because I always thought it’s just a waste of money. This time though, is different. Since we were just kids, our dad introduced us to the Hillsong. He would always play it on weekends with the lyrics flashed in our telly. We would sing and dance at the top of our lungs while praising God.
I don’t know how I mustered all the courage I had to go to the concert especially that it’s far from my place. When I arrived in the area, I bought my snacks and went inside. I did not know a single person but I was comfortable. I felt empowered by the band. I did not feel alone at all. I was teary eyed the whole time as I sang the lyrics to the song and worshipped God. I went home very happy and inspired.
We all have our conditions and restrictions but if the activity we participate in is for God, He will lift all the restrictions and embrace us. Until now, I am still in awe of how I did it but one thing I know is for sure, with God, nothing is impossible.
